Adventure Sports Center International

Making a Splash

An outdoor adventurer’s vacation paradise since the 1880’s, Garrett County was a natural location choice for the Adventure Sports Center International (ASCI). As the world’s only mountaintop whitewater course, ASCI attracts thousands of thrill-seekers per year. At ASCI, tourists and athletes from around the world elevate their abilities by rafting, paddling, canoeing, and hiking up this mountain mecca.

ASCI’s top-notch facilities are definitely worth the climb. In 2014, ASCI will host the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Championships—the largest inbound sporting event in the United States, welcoming over 40,000 spectators to Garrett County.

Buoyed by a vibrant tourist economy and a workforce trained at Garrett College’s Adventure Sports Program, ASCI is making a splash worldwide. Garrett County is a natural choice for tourism-based businesses. Contact us at (301)334-1921 or economicdevelopment@garrettcounty.org.
